Sofia Saprykina

I grew up in Akademgorodok, Siberia, a scientific community surrounded by forest, where science and academia were part of everyday life. Growing up in that environment led me to study mathematics, which shaped my curiosity for complex problems and systems, something I later carried into design.

My path into design took me to St. Petersburg, where I studied at the Polytechnic University and started working as a designer, with inspiration from the city’s art and underground rock scene. In 2015, I moved to Berlin, studied Interface Design in Potsdam, and began working on digital products in Berlin’s startup scene.

Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked on products across SaaS, mobility, EdTech, and finance, from early-stage startups to complex enterprise environments. My work combines hands-on product design, solving complex product challenges, and design leadership.

During my years in Berlin, I teamed up with a couple of friends and founded 2meters startup, a digital queuing system where I was the founding designer and product lead. The experience taught me what it really means to build a product from scratch.

Today, I’m a Lead Product Designer at Deutsche Bank, leading design across several banking products and working on complex solutions at enterprise scale.

I’m still a mathematician at heart. I enjoy finding patterns, understanding complex systems, and bringing structure to challenging problems. These days, I’m especially curious about AI, product innovation, and what the future of product design might look like.
