Atike Pekel

Atike Pekel is a lead designer at Philips Experience Design, helping teams create high-quality, inclusive, and safe healthcare solutions through a strong culture of design review. With nearly two decades of experience across telecommunications, e-commerce, automotive, and healthcare, she brings a broad, human-centred perspective to complex design challenges.

Over the past 12 years at Philips, Atike has progressed through roles as a UX designer, associate design director, and lead designer. Her work includes digital solutions for clinicians and patients across oncology, cardiology, and neurology, supporting patient engagement, clinical decision making, access to relevant data, and more effective workflows.

Driven by a deep curiosity about human behaviour, Atike combines a holistic perspective with practical design leadership to help teams turn insight into meaningful experiences. She is passionate about strengthening design practice, sharing knowledge with the wider community, and enabling multidisciplinary teams to make thoughtful decisions in regulated healthcare environments. Beyond Philips, Atike contributes to the international design community as a UX Design Awards juror and speaker on healthcare design at conferences and universities.

Atike holds an MSc in Digital Media from the University of Bremen, Germany, and an Engineering Doctorate in User System Interaction from Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands.
