Joana Cerejo
Staff Experience Designer
Joana Cerejo is a UX Lead, educator, and author of The Anticipatory Design Playbook. She specializes in human-centered AI, with 15 years in product design and the last 10 shipping AI-native products across fintech, e-learning, accounting, and manufacturing. Today she leads the design of AI products at a global manufacturing-software company, where she shaped AI design guidelines aligned with the EU AI Act and ISO/IEC 42001.
Her approach comes from her PhD in anticipatory systems at the University of Porto, where she studied why AI can be statistically correct yet humanly irrelevant, and how to design systems that adapt as people change.
A VentureBeat Women in AI "Rising Star" nominee, she writes for Smashing Magazine, UXmatters, and UXPA Magazine, and speaks internationally on designing AI that adapts to human intent, not just data.
